An incentive trip has to feel exceptional without losing control of the budget, the timing or the guests. Türkiye does this well: Istanbul is one of the most striking cities in the world for an evening event, Cappadocia offers moments people talk about for years, and the coast has resorts built for groups. This guide covers how we plan incentive trips with companies and incentive agencies.
Why Türkiye works for incentives
Easy to reach: Istanbul and Antalya have direct flights from most European cities, many under four hours.
Small time difference: Türkiye is on UTC+3 all year, one or two hours ahead of Western Europe.
Variety in one trip: a city of two continents, a volcanic landscape and the Mediterranean coast, connected by short domestic flights.
Hospitality: hotels, restaurants and venues used to groups, with service that guests notice.
Programme building blocks
Istanbul
A private boat on the Bosphorus at sunset, a dinner with a view over the water, a guided walk through the old city, the Grand Bazaar as a team challenge, a Turkish bath or a cooking workshop. Two to four nights is the usual length.
Cappadocia
A sunrise balloon flight, a night in a cave hotel and a dinner in the valleys. Balloon flights depend on the weather, so we always plan two possible mornings.
The Antalya coast and the Aegean
Resorts with meeting space, boat days, ancient theatres such as Aspendos, and Ephesus for groups who want history by day and the sea by night.
A realistic timeline
6 to 9 months ahead: brief, dates and first proposal; secure hotels for spring and autumn, the busiest incentive seasons.
3 to 6 months: confirm the programme, venues, flights and activities; collect guest details.
The last 6 weeks: final numbers, rooming list, running order and briefing of guides and staff.
What drives the budget
The main factors are the season, hotel category, the number of exclusive events (private boats, buyouts, gala dinners) and domestic flights. Contracts in euros protect the budget from currency movements. Dutch, Belgian and French passport holders currently do not need a visa for short stays; check other nationalities in the group early.
Questions to ask your DMC
Who will be our single point of contact, before and during the trip?
Is there a plan B for weather-dependent activities?
Which services are confirmed in writing, and when do release dates fall?
Who is on site with the group, and how are they reachable at night?
Incentives with KAMPA
We have organised groups in Türkiye since 1996 and work for companies and for incentive agencies, under their brand if they prefer. One planner follows your trip from the brief to the last transfer, and our team stays with the group on site. See our incentives and meetings page or send your brief through the form below.
